Lakehill Preparatory School recently announced the selection of Lisa Bracken as the school's new Director of Admission.

Lakehill looked at qualified candidates from top private schools across the Southwest and engaged an educational search firm. The search led full circle back to Bracken, a Lakehill parent of twin third-grade girls.

"Lisa's passion, creativity, and experience clearly satisfy the many strenuous criteria and qualifications developed by the School and the Board of Directors," said Roger Perry, Headmaster. "These qualities, combined with her experience in education, made her stand out among other candidates."

"I am thrilled to have Lisa on board at Lakehill," explained Lara Gajkowski, Assistant Headmaster. "She is a true professional who has been able to hit the ground running. She is a wonderful addition to Lakehill's administrative team."

A native Texan, Bracken graduated from Richardson High School and then earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master's Degree in Reading Education from the University of North Texas. After spending eight years in New England, she was happy to return to the city she called home.

Bracken has dedicated her entire career to education, with the past few years spent in non-profit management with KERA Public Television and as Project Director for the Zero to Five Funders' Collaborative. In both positions, Bracken's area of focus was on helping low-income families with the tools they need to educate their children.

Perry added, "Lisa is an exceptional communicator who builds bonds with others. She truly understands the unique and special mission of our school."

"Lakehill undoubtedly offers excellent academics and top-notch teachers, but we also have a community feel that makes students and parents feel comfortable and welcome," Bracken explained. "I also find that our diversity both in religion and ethnicity help capture the real world for our children when they leave school. These still remain the reasons why we chose Lakehill for our daughters Lily and Sofia."

Bracken says she is thrilled to be working in the school she and her family love so much. "I enjoy meeting potential families and hearing about their children, and look forward to sharing all Lakehill has to offer with them. I am also anxious to network with other schools and in the community to extol all of Lakehill's virtues!"

Bracken says she is most excited about meeting and helping families through the enrollment process. "I still remember the day of our kindergarten Snow Cone Party and how we felt when we received our acceptance letter. I can't wait to share that with others."
